Your smile is very significant to Dr. Wallace Lunden and our dental team. This is why we encourage you to restore your missing teeth–so you can have the healthy grin that you want. One option to consider is dentures.
Getting dentures is a pretty convenient and hassle free process due to their removable nature. There are two kinds of dentures: partial dentures and complete dentures. Partial dentures replace one or more missing teeth in one part of your mouth; complete dentures replace all of your teeth, whether on the bottom arch, top arch or both. Partial dentures attach onto the remaining natural teeth on both sides of the gap, while complete dentures work through suction to the roof of the mouth. Both are quite natural looking. Which one is right for you will depend upon the health of your remaining teeth.
It’s ordinary for dentures to feel strange when you first wear them, but as time passes, your mouth adjusts. They will make you salivate more than normal. You may also experience some minor irritation. To help you get used to the appliance, simply practice chewing and talking when the dentures are in place.
If you have missing teeth, call Cedar Point Dentistry at 612-822-2176 and schedule an appointment. Dr. Wallace Lunden and team will be happy to examine your smile and recommend the restoration that can best benefit you. We look forward to helping you!
